Major Thomas K. Patton

Major Thomas K. Patton oversees the Sheriff's Services Bureau of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office in Forsyth County, Georgia.

Major Patton began his law enforcement career with the Alpharetta Police Department, which is now part of the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. He served in the Uniform Patrol Division, and then in the Community Relations Unit where he worked primarily with Alpharetta's business community. Following that assignment, he assumed responsibility of the department's budget and finance operations. During his career, Major Patton held supervisory and/or command responsibility for Finance, Training, 911, Records, procurement, and other support responsibilities. He retired from the Alpharetta Police Department as a Captain in September, 2016.

Prior to his law enforcement career, Major Patton spent twenty years with Wachovia Bank. He began as a corporate lending officer, and progressed through assignments in Treasury Services, Corporate Finance, and Risk Management. He retired as a Senior Vice President. Prior to Wachovia, he worked for GMAC and General Motors Corporate Financial Staff.

Major Patton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College, and an MBA from the University of Virginia. He is a graduate of the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety's School of Police Staff & Command, and of the FBI's Law Enforcement Executive Development program.

Major Patton is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. He and his wife Vickie have one son, John, who serves in the United States Army. Major and Mrs. Patton live in Forsyth County, and attend First Redeemer Church.
